Located in beautiful Newport Beach, CA, Allied Yacht and Ship was founded in 2009 and since then, has become known for its professional, efficient, and friendly brokerage services. Founder Mark Mowery strives to go above and beyond clients’ expectations. Every client is treated with the utmost respect that they deserve. Our office is located in the old Sea Spray Boat Yard on 21st Street in Newport Beach.
Mark Mowery
Raised in Newport Beach, CA, Mark grew up engulfed in the boat and yachting world. Growing up in a family that owned and operated two shipyard businesses in Newport Harbor, Boatswain’s Locker and Newport Harbor Shipyard starting back in 1938. The family also owned and operated a tug and barge marine salvage operation. Childhood and teenage years were spent recreational sailing, racing and deck handing. At the age of 17, he was fortunate enough to be hired as crew to sail around the world on an 82′ Schooner for almost two years. All this experience, as well as being raised in and around the shipyard, that made him realize he was born for all things nautical. From there, Mark worked as full time captain for 32 years on yachts owned by the principals of five large corporations including Carnation, Cisco, Bacardi and Electra Cruise Line Company. This eventually led him to founding the yacht partnership management company, Professional Yacht Partners in 1996 and after, in 2006, Allied Yacht and Ship was born.
Being intensely involved with the boat business his entire life, Mark knows the headaches that goes into selecting, purchasing, owning, operating and selling a yacht. It’s an immense number of decisions and having the right team behind you is essential. With Mark’s 3000+ days at sea as Captain and now owning and operating Allied Yacht and Ship brokerage Mark is uniquely qualified to guide you from start to finish. Whether it be yacht selection or delivery of your new yacht, Mark will be with you the whole way to make sure that every step goes as smooth as possible.
Mark resides on the bay front in Newport Beach, CA. He has two children, Matthew and Mackenzie. Mackenzie is a 4th year Nursing student at TCU. Matthew is an active duty US Marine stationed at Marine Corp Air Station Miramar Ca. currently assigned to the F18 training squadron.
